95 Point Wine!
"This bottling, from the vineyard high up on Atlas Peak, is establishing itself as a real benchmark. The ’07 is smooth and rich and vast in flavor, offering waves of blackberries, cherry pie, cassis and blackstrap molasses, with a delicious coating of sweet, smoky oak. It’s impressive in youth, but so balanced, it should easily negotiate the years."

Tasting Notes
Indie Winemakers' Tasting Notes
Our mission is to provide unbiased opinions of the wine being offered. These notes come from up to 10 guests who tasted this wine in a blind tasting format (wine is concealed so their identity is unknown). Why this format? Tasting blind completely throws out any hype associated with a certain winery, style, price point, etc; it forces the taster to accept what is in the glass without any predetermined notions. Our guests utilize Robert Parker's Glossary of Wine Terms for their comments for consistency purposes. In addition, we utilize the wine aroma wheel to enhance one’s ability to describe the complexity of wine flavor. Notes are posted on this wine during the tasting to ensure they accurately reflect the impressions.

Vintage Description
2007 Stagecoach Vineyard, Napa Valley
One of the factors that make Stagecoach Vineyard unique is the cool fog that rolls off the hills each summer morning around 7:00 a.m. Sun shines on the vines for a large amount of hours each day, even though the average temperature during ripening is a full 1-2 degree Celsius below the Oakville mean. This combination of cool nights and lengthy warm days promotes great complexity due to optimal hang time. Another major factor is the well-drained soils that make up almost the entire base of the vines. Several large rocks dot the landscape and smaller gravel to tiny pebbles break up the few feet of soil that a vine’s roots find purchase in, until being forced to make their way through broken volcanic rock.
Winemaker's Comments:
My favorite vintage of the decade for Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. We were graced with outstanding growing conditions that gave way to a wine with pure, focused flavors black cherry, currant, and tobacco, while a mid palate of spice vanilla and mocha linger in layers, all framed with velvet-like, dusty tannins.. It was released in February of 2011.
