About this Tempranillo blend
The 2004 Milagro is a Spanish style blend of 60% Tempranillo, 36% Graciano and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon. Earthy aromas of cedar, anise, vanilla, blueberry, tobacco, oak are highlighted by hints of black pepper and caramel. Crisp on the palate all around, nice finish and integrated, soft tannis. A great wine to cellar for 10+ years.

Tasting Notes
Our mission is to provide unbiased opinions of the wine being offered. These notes come from up to 10 guests who tasted this wine in a blind tasting format (wine is concealed so their identity is unknown). Why this format? Tasting blind completely throws out any hype associated with a certain winery, style, price point, etc; it forces the taster to accept what is in the glass without any predetermined notions. Our tasters are not wine professionals, but a cross-representation of professions where the common denominator is our love for wine. We utilize Robert Parker's Glossary of Wine Terms to help write our comments. In addition, we utilize the aroma wheel to enhance our ability to describe the complexity of wine flavor.Indie Winemakers' Tasting Notes

Fosati Vineyard is contiguous to the Estate Vineyard. This land was once part of the original ranch homesteaded in the 1850s. Justin Boeger spearheaded the conversion of 10 acres of the old pear orchard to vineyards in 1998, planting Zinfandel, Primitivo, Tempranillo, Cabernet and other varieties. The Zinfandel was propagated from the old vines which survived from the 1800s. Very steep slopes characterize the 30 acres of vineyards surrounding the winery, which were planted by Greg Boeger from 1973 to the present. The soil is shallow, composed of sedimentary shale, and the exposures face all compass points. The elevation ranges from 2,100 to 2,300 feet. This is on a 70 acre property that was the site of the original 1870s vineyard of Giovanni Lombardo The 2004 growing season resulted in fruit that was slightly higher than average. Quality was the best of the new Millennium color, balance, flavor and maturity are all triple plus, due to the early spring and mild summer. Efforts in the vineyards to pay close attention to producing crop loads that can be supported by smaller root systems in the shallower foothill soils have helped increase overall quality. Boeger Winery has 40 acres of producing grapevines on the historic Estate Vineyard and contiguous Fossati Vineyard. The winery also leases another 50 acres within the El Dorado appellation, so Estate Bottled wines comprise about 80% of our production. The terrain of the vineyards is characterized by steep hillsides, rocky soil and exposures to all directions, creating numerous micro-climates. These varied conditions are what allow us to grow over 30 different varietals
