About this Russian River Estate Pinot Noir
This is the first time Ketcham Estates has offered their Estate Pinot Noir outside of their mailing list allocations, and we are proud to offer it for a limited, one-time only sale. This exceptional wine comes from blocks that, in our opinion, truly represent the Russian River Valley and Ketcham Estate Vineyard.
Michael Browne, (Wine Spectator has anointed him, 'The Prince of Pinot') from the famed Kosta Browne winery is the winemaker for this wine. Perfect for food pairings during the holidays, this wine will also make a special gift.

Tasting Notes
Indie Winemakers' Tasting Notes
Our mission is to provide unbiased opinions of the wine being offered. These notes come from up to 10 guests who tasted this wine in a blind tasting format (wine is concealed so their identity is unknown). Why this format? Tasting blind completely throws out any hype associated with a certain winery, style, price point, etc; it forces the taster to accept what is in the glass without any predetermined notions.
Our tasters are not wine professionals, but a cross-representation of professions where the common denominator is our love for wine. We utilize Robert Parker's Glossary of Wine Terms to help write our comments. In addition, we utilize the aroma wheel to enhance our ability to describe the complexity of wine flavor.

About the Vineyards
Home to a number of California's most acclaimed wineries and vineyards, the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley (OKD) is steeped in winegrowing history and tradition. Offering a perfect convergence of growing conditions, OKD has earned a reputation for producing an array of world-class wines, including Merlot, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. A late frost and a dry and windy spring resulted in smaller yields. “The quantity is slightly lower than ’07 but quality is the best I’ve seen.”About the Winery
HaGafen Cellars is located in the Napa Valley, in the heart of California's premier wine grape region. Less than a mile south of the famed Stags leap District and twenty yards from the Oak Knoll District--Napa's newest and most exciting of American Viticultural Areas--our well-drained soil is ideal for the growth and production of ripe and rich, intensely fruity small lot estate bottled wines.
Winemaker's Tasting Notes
With its light sunflower hue and green apple, guava, and kiwi bouquet, our newest Chardonnay presents an integrated, melodious blending of bright apple, apricot, and pineapple, with a kiss of toasty oak.
