Indie Winemakers' Tasting Notes
Our mission is to provide unbiased opinions of the wine being offered. These notes come from up to 10 guests who tasted this wine in a blind tasting format (wine is concealed so their identity is unknown). Why this format? Tasting blind completely throws out any hype associated with a certain winery, style, price point, etc; it forces the taster to accept what is in the glass without any predetermined notions.
Our tasters are not wine professionals, but a cross-representation of professions where the common denominator is our love for wine. We utilize Robert Parker's Glossary of Wine Terms to help write our comments. In addition, we utilize the aroma wheel to enhance our ability to describe the complexity of wine flavor.

About the Vineyards
The wine is crafted from four vineyards in the Russian River Valley – 80% Ketcham Vineyard, and the balance from O’Neel Vineyard, Nonella, and Manzana vineyards. We wanted to craft a wine that was easier to drink when young and were more expressive of the characteristics of the Russian River Valley itself. Our Dijon clones in the vineyard are intense, fruit-laden berries that do not forsake the underlying spice and earth that comes in the best RRV pinot.
About the Winery
Ketcham Estate is about making seductive Pinot Noir wines with rich fruits, that have structure and balance and are very food friendly. We are about family, friends, food and wine and are committed to putting a significant portion of our profits back into charitable endeavors and our local community. After all, that is what Pinot Noir is all about.
Winemaker's Tasting Notes
Aromatics: Spicy red cherry, raspberry and ripe cranberry notes are at the forefront with subtle hints of fresh strawberry, rose petal and light brown spice.
Palate: Superbly balanced on entry this wine delivers a soft and supple texture backed up by an underlying backbone framed by refreshing acidity and soft, round tannins. Flavors of fresh cherry and crushed raspberries surround the palate and are highlighted by a bit of cinnamon and cranberry.
