About this Kosher wine
This block-designate release from Soleil Vineyard's thirty-plus year old vines are reserved for Hagafen Cellar's top-of-the-line "Prix" label. The vineyard is located in one of the coolest wine regions in Napa Valley (Yountville), which helps contribute to a long growing season. The area is particularly known for tannic wines that have the capability of aging well in the bottle. This wine is Kosher and has been produced according to Jewish dietary laws.
Winemaker Notes
This reserve bottling presents aromas of bright cherry, strawberry and honey while the drastically low yields we get from these vines produce a New World Pinot of mouth-filling cherry, spice, and zippy white pepper. This wine is all about experience, and given how little of it there is, we urge you to get it now or miss it forever.
Food and wine
We suggest you pair this wine with an Grilled Salmon with Strawberry Salsa . See our Recipe Tab for preparation instructions.

Indie Winemakers' Tasting Notes
Our mission is to provide unbiased opinions of the wine being offered. These notes come from up to 10 guests who tasted this wine in a blind tasting format (wine is concealed so their identity is unknown). Why this format? Tasting blind completely throws out any hype associated with a certain winery, style, price point, etc; it forces the taster to accept what is in the glass without any predetermined notions. Our guests utilize Robert Parker's Glossary of Wine Terms for their comments for consistency purposes. In addition, we utilize the wine aroma wheel to enhance one’s ability to describe the complexity of wine flavor. Notes are posted on this wine during the tasting to ensure they accurately reflect the impressions.
Tasting Notes
- Group Tasting Notes: Clear red color. This wine has been crafted into an elegant, traditional Pinot Noir with tart red fruits and some dark raspberry tones. It has great focus with a fresh taste. This is a pure food wine and will go the distance.

About the Vineyards
California Soleil Vineyard is in Yountville, Napa Valley. Yountville AVA is one of the coolest wine regions in Napa Valley, which helps contribute to a long growing season. The area is particularly known for tannic wines that have the capability of aging well in the bottle.
About The Vintage
The 2006 growing season started late; bud-break was delayed by very wet and cold weather throughout winter and early spring. An exceptionally hot mid-summer season helped accelerate growth. By the end of July, when temperatures soared over 100F on eight days, the vines had entered into a more typical cycle. Beautiful weather followed in August, with characteristic warm days and cool nights. Mid-veraison was observed on August 8. Mild temperatures throughout the months of September and October allowed for increased hang-time and favored perfect ripening.
